Rockauto in Silver Spring, Maryland - "Part Could not be shipped to my location"

This review (#1506788 ) concerns a tail lamp assembly I tried to order off of my cart. What frustrated me was that there was no human to chat with or call on the phone. Thanks to this website I was contacted by Ralph of Rockauto who said you will receive that warning when a part is not approved for use in your country (i.e.: does not meet US standards). While I'm not thrilled with the news, it's a viable answer. Thanks, RM

Rockauto - Withhold my refund

About March 28th 2019 I ordered a part for my 2014 Dodge Avenger. I received the part about a week later. I found that it was the wrong part and returned everything in the box with the part. I received a call about 4 days after sending the item back telling me that I did not send part of the packaging that came with the part. My family has done business for many years with Rock Auto so we know how to follow instructions when sending back a part. I didn't even take it completely out of the packaging when I saw that it was the wrong part. So I repacked it and shipped it back. I was told that I did not include some other box with the item. There was not any other box with the item. The girl I talked to told me that they were keeping my money because of a packaging part I did not get. Rock Auto Rep. sent me a picture of what they were talking about and I have no idea what they are talking about. I sent everything back that was in the picture they sent me. I am so upset. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and because they are keeping my money I can't afford to buy the right part. What am I supposed to do? Can anyone help me? I can't use my car now because it won't get through inspection because my windows won't work. The vendor I bought the part from in Rock Auto and the part number is 105970191.

I have had no replies from Rock Auto since responding to their emails mentioned in my previous comment, more than 3 days ago.

I ordered the product and chose to have it shipped directly to my auto body repair shop. The cost of shipping was almost as much as the part itself. The package was delivered, and when the auto body shop opened the box a few days later to begin the repair, they discovered that the part had been packed poorly and fairly loosely, and had sustained damage during shipment. Rock Auto does not have any 'live' people in their so-called Customer Service Department. When you dial their only available phone number 608-661-1376, you get a recording that states they do not provide Customer Service via telephone. The only way to report a problem is via their website. After answering a few qualifying questions and submitting my request, I received an email stating that because their advice regarding receipt of shipments was not followed, their carrier would reject the claim, and Rock Auto is not responsible. Rock Auto claims that any report about damage to the shipment should occur within 4 days, but the only document that we received from the shipment clearly indicates 30 days from the date of the order. I believe that both Rock Auto and their shipper are at fault. The person who packed the product did a really poor job, and the shipper probably manhandled the shipment at each stop along the way. Rock Auto needs to step up and own these problems, instead of pointing fingers and saying 'It's not my fault Mr. Customer, tough darts for you'.

Rockauto in Griswold, Iowa - Received a broken pump.

Received an air pump yesterday. shipping box looked over stuffed- opened to find delco box with part with three holes made from inside out. Part broken. It's obvious to see that it was shipped this way! you cannot reach a person for customer service. this is not my first let down with this company. Intend to look at other suppliers.

Rockauto in Shepherd, Texas - Wrong item delivered. Twice.

Ordered a hub bearing for my Ram. They sent the wrong one(no ABS wire). I went through the returns and re-order process with the problem stated on the returns section and they sent me the exact same item (at no charge) again.
