Rockauto - Horrible customer service & refusal to take credit card

Rockauto.com sucks. The website took some orders and then rejected others while using the same card. Bank said nothing was wrong with my card. It's done this to me more than once now. Customer service isn't helpful when calling the number given by the website at all. It won't direct you to a representative, just continues to play the same automated message telling you where to report a problem on the website, when you can't unless you've made an order, which, once again, RockAuto refuses to fulfill. Well, I suspect that this Company is a Shell Company designed to get as many credit cards locked into their system and to steal information and commit fraud from unsuspecting customers in the future. These are my thoughts!

Well I have ordered from them and yes you are taking a risk with any business that you are buying auto parts from via the internet vs going to a store. I will decide If I don't like some of their parts I am sure it would be difficult to get them to replace or warranty them I would gather just by the distance from the business.

I think the problem with the credit cards there is my card's bank must not like them or they must charge them a fee so they do not even run it through US BANK. I callled the bank the bank never saw the transaction attempted.

In order complete a purchase with rockauto I had to use a debit card. Neat huh?

Rockauto - Parts return and website problems

There is practically no way to get them to figure out how to send this part back, ordered TYC 621430, radiator fan assembly. It said it was police edition, when it arrived it did not fit, was not police edition. Site said to order correct part and you would get return info. Two weeks later,no responses and no way to email them. Will send it back to address on 2nd one, that was correct and hope to get my $119.98 back. There is no address or contact phone number to try. We have no recourse but to try. Site keeps saying we will review in one day and get back to you. Time is running out and I am returning fan assy. Sure can't do me any good as it is. Hope that someone else will get some satisfaction, buy I will not order from them again. Good Luck to any that try to do this.

Follow-up, finally after weeks of back and forth, received a refund, only after paying to send part back, at my expense and time to get the address AND paying to have the right part sent. This fan is the correct one.

August 29...We finally had an answer of where to send the part ($30 to ship to them), they wanted a tracking number, my son sent it, no response. Said they never received it (just like they didn't get the answers to their questions or photos we sent), would like a REAL physical address to write to...

I sent it as well as my son, and they say they have received it , expect 3 business days to attain refund.

Rockauto - My Rock Auto Experience!

You know I used you once before and I was amazed it wa great service all the parts were correct and the price is phenomenal. When I went through the last time I looked at some other parts I might be needing down the line. And now the day has come. The same 1998 Blazer 4 wheel drive 4 door I'm looking for a spare tire hoist is what GM calls it the part number is #15749 696. I put both of those in and you kept bringing me back either to engine or you gave me the complete list of all your different categories none of which have this in there or at least not marked as such. I change a few words around to see maybe one word will make a difference I changed hoist to mount & then holder. Neither of those worked. I changed spare tire to spare wheel which is actually how GM has it listed & then the part number obviously. I found out you're a very rude Business when it comes to the customers! I had to call & talk to your ridiculous *** answering machine, that tells you *** nothing! It might as well slap you in the face when you answer the phone! Basically all it says is "everything you need to know is in our website, so *** you & don't bother us!" Maybe not in so many words but but the message was there for your customers. I wouldn't be so adamant if it wasn't for the fact that I saw them in there before & if I remember correctly, when I found it the first time I spent 45 minutes looking, I accidentally stumbled over it. Well now I spent an hour-&-a-half trying to *** around with you guys, having to re-enter 20 x 1998 Chevrolet Blazer 4 wheel drive every time I would have to change because you gave me engine for a tire mount or you gave me electrical or exhaust I had to put the whole thing in there & reconnect like I was just starting off again. Needless to say it was an utter waste of my time & that's why I don't deal with online peddlers! I got lucky the first time I don't know how you did that? Got all the right parts & they showed up in less time than you estimated! So I really was pleased with you! But this has given me a real good taste of what you're really like! Maybe you're extra special careful with your first customer so they come back & trust you! Then you'll start *** up after that, send out whatever don't let him get back and talk to you & just keep all the money. I am very disappointed though, because I planned on doing a lot with you I dabble in good used cars! I don't buy new so I do spend a lot of time buying parts to renew or reinstate the used cars I get! I know a ton of mechanics that have a abundantly huge Network 4 buying parts & that's all they do is the type of repair that would make your company a lot of business. I actually started to sing your Praises up until now! They're all my friends so I'm going to have to go back & tell them that you're really were the wolf in sheep's clothing! I mean the worst treatment you could give a customer is to not have someone they can actually talk to, especially when you're dealing in a product such as what you're delivering or supplying! So many different types & makes & models & so many interchangeable parts! In this case, it's just some wording that you're using that obviously is not very familiar to the automotive industry because I got the name of it right from GM & I got the part number right from GM, I also know it's a very common item that goes bad. So I'm sure I'm not the only customer that got very frustrated dealing with you and your ***-up nomenclatures! You ask for part numbers, and you got them right to the manufacturer did it do me any good to waste my time looking up that part number to make it a little easier for you? No all the waste! I'm really disappointed that I have to take my business elsewhere. But I will tell you, this is why I probably will never again do any business with anybody online again, because they all end up being these cheap-*** string you along sham companies that make mistakes, then they make you pay to ship the stuff back & then the ship the new stuff out! So then what good is your discount? You can lower your price up the ***. Like I said I know it's in there but I rearranged the name of what that thing could possibly be a thousand times & you kept taking me to other options! You would take me to engine you take me to electrical you would take me to fuel I mean anything I talked about to you you would send me everywhere except the one place you should have taken me!. I looked on accessories I looked under body, I checked every single thing you had listing on & I couldn't find it but it is in there, & I guess I'm wasting my time here but I'm really disappointed & I'm sorry I wasted my time & I hate talking to your aggravating *** voice machine that doesn't do anything! Like I said not in so many words but it's pretty much saying if you cut to the chase"hey *** you, just make an order,everything you need to know is in the catalog,& if you got a problem, too *** bad live with it! If you don't like the part send it back, & pay for shipping, cause we're not paying for anything & we don't give a ***!" Not the first impression I got that's for sure. Thanks I started going back to look at some of the feedback you guys been getting & it looks like I'm really not the first one to have a problem! But I did waste a bunch of time & if I was working on something that I was getting paid for I'd send you a bill for my time. So once I was very pleased but now very disgruntled former customer! You got off to the right start, but drop the ball after that big time!
