Rockauto in Dublin, Dublin - No willingness to help

I have had 4 Rockauto power steering pumps fail. I live ie Ireland and each time I paid for a new pump, paid for shipping and paid for customs duty (usually totaling in excess of $300). I didi this because the shipping costs make returns expensive and complicated. In addition to the cost of pumps I have spent close to $2000 on mechanics bills taking pumps in and out of the car. On this latest occasion I offered Rockauto that I would buy yet another power steering pump from them if, as a show of good faith, they covered the shipping costs... The unit was an ACDelco unit and Rockauto refused. They have offered to pay for shipping costs to ship the unit back toi US and then to ship another one to me but it will cost me more money to drive 90 minutes to and from the shipping depot, pay tolls and lose at least 1/2 day at work. I cannot believe their blinkered vision. -

I too am from Ireland but live in the states. Rockauto sucks. Try PartsGeek I found better stuff cheaper than Rockauto.

Details
Luckily, when rockauto sends known previously returned defective products (in my case an electric fuel pump), if you paid with a credit card, you have recourse against them. If they wont correct their mistake by paying for return shipping, or if they refuse to even take a defective product at all, your credit card is your friend. File a dispute on the charge, with your credit card company, and you will be made whole again. Ask me how I know.

Rockauto in Racine, Wisconsin - Defective part

I purchased a Fuel Pressure Sensor from Rockauto on June 18, 2016. I was not able to install in in my second car until the first week of August. After scanning the computer code of the vehicle, I discovered that this "new part" from Rockauto was defective. Upon searching their website for a return option, I was informed that since I purchased it 55 days ago, Rockauto with not replace the part or refund my purchase price of $96.46... So much for a so called factory warranty or a 60 day return policy... DO not buy from Rockauto !!!

I ordered side mirrors for my truck that required drilling holes, got everything mounted and then every time you close the door the mirrors move and when you go over 50 mph the mirrors move. There is no way to tighten the mirrors up. When I tried to make a return they wanted me to buy another set and would not return my money until I had mailed the defective set, which leaves me with a truck I cannot drive until the new ones arrive and also no guarantee the replacements would be good. The man on the phone would not give me any other choices. Buyer beware.

chances are you just fugged up the install. no wonder they try to hide from their customers, you guys are a bunch of mongoloids who don't even understand how a refund works, nevermind how to install a damned mirror.

nobody gives your money back till they receive their items,I have dealt with them for 20+years,you either pay for new one and then return the bad one and get your refund,or directly return and get your money back after they received their item, you can buy new item from some one else

they ship thru dhl takes a few days then it arrives at usps takes a couple more ,lot longer to get something than from other places . ordered on a sunday , will take til the next Monday to get the parts maybe.shipping that way. why not ship usps to start with, save a lot of shipping time? so order way ahead of any repair your doing . they sent me a email to give parts up to 8 days to show up that's ridiculous unless they are coming from china . you do save on prices if your not in a hurry to get the parts an can let the car sit for awhile , while waiting. break out the bicycle , or the thumb

Shipping has always been a problem with them. They don't package things well enough to avoid damage. The latest pile of project parts I bought had such a problem. I had looked over, but not noticed, a bend in the port of the a/c condenser. 6 months later I got to the final portion of my project to find the bend. I called them up but they will give no consideration for anything over 30 days. I'm out 70$. Really the price is cheep enough to keep me coming back to try again. If I get another one that is broken and they don't help me out, I would have been better off to buy one twice as much from a more reputable company. This is also cutting into my time as I wanted to have the thing fixed for a family vacation. Check your orders extremely carefully. and get right on them.

Rockauto in Laguna Woods, California - Good Prices, but not great practices

I ordered a couple of parts that were to be shipped via USPS Priority Mail 1 day. After 5 days I sent email to customer service asking about the status of my parts, but they replied with a variety of excuses saying more or less be patient. I finally received my parts in 7 days. Based on the USPS tracking data, one day after ordering a Shipping Label was created at a location only 70 miles from my house and "Pre-Shipment Info" was sent to the USPS. Also my credit card was charged. After that nothing happened for the next 5 days. It is likely that RockAuto sells parts that may not be available and then scrambles to obtain those parts for shipment. In my case RockAuto promised USPS Priority 1 mail which they did use. However, they were less honest about the time it would take to put my parts in the box and send them. A customer-focused company will tell you when you can expect to receive your shipment, not just how they will send it whenever it is ready.
